I then arranged them in an order that resembled that of a normal Tetris playthrough but I placed the game in a Paused state, this adds a floating block and a Pause overlay for effect. Having now designed my assets in 3D in 3DS Max I moved forward and proceeded to import my models in to the Unreal engine. I briefly researched the game Tetris for inspiration but also so I could ascertain what blocks existed within the game so I could mimic the set but in 3D using 3DS max. It addition the art style, example the Tetris blocks would make for excellent platforms for the player to climb or walk over. The idea was adopted due to its obvious distinction as it is well known for being an older game that has retained its familiarity. The first world I created is based loosely on the design style of the game Tetris. All of these ideas could eventually form levels for the players to explore as they surf cyber space trying to locate the Virus known as ADAM. Aspects such as Social media, Internet shopping, Desktop screens, Virus scanners, Binary Numbers. It is however not just limited to games other aspects of the Internet could be used as climb-able blocks or walk-able floor tiles for the player to traverse. This would express that the player was traversing cyber space and stumbling across digital worlds other people in the real world are playing. So I decided on a multi platformed game, with multiple levels and stages that would be snippets of other games and graphics styles as-well as qualities. How would I display aspects of my story or ideas on screen and relay those ideas to the players. As an example what Levels could I create, how would I go about creating them to express this digitized idea.

They digitized Dr Hunter, once he was turned in to code and uploaded to the internet he could traverse the digital landscape in many 3D forms and kick some digital butt in order to track down ADAM and stop him before he destroys the modern world as we know it.Īfter briefly planning my story I decided to consider what I could put in to the game to make it fit this story. So they found a new way to track him down and quarantine him to stop his infestation. Now the group of scientist from the Next Evolution laboratories realized the threat he could pose to mankind but where un-able to stop him using conventional means, virus scanners. ADAM knew that in order to survive he had to spread out to maximize his life span, so he leaked his way on to the Internet and spread out globally across the world, infecting HUB after HUB until he felt he had secured his future. ADAM was marvelous invention and he started learning and adapting fast. This new technology was discovered when the group birthed the first A.I construct known as ADAM. The group accidentally developed a way to digitize a human being and turn them in to code. The idea or bases of my game follows the life of a scientist called Dr Hunter and a group of fellow scientist who work with him at the Next Evolution laboratories. The smallest nudge it either direction across the axis could dramatically change the perspective of my game. Now the question was what type of platform game was I going to construct, it could either use 2D Sprites or even 3D Objects but game play would be set from a front perspective, so it would appear 2D but with more depth dependent upon where I placed the active Viewport camera.

Now bouncing off my earlier post ‘Using Dragon Bones’ I was firm on the idea of a side scrolling platformer. To begin my design process I planned out a few rough ideas, trying to decide what type of game I wanted to create.
